Impact
Training consists of two days of equipping designed to prepare you
for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of foster care. Using mini
workshops, we touch on a variety of important topics, including welcoming a new
foster child, managing discipline and nurturing your biological family. Through
prayer, conversation and tabletop discussions, we help families examine their
hearts in order to determine if they are called to foster. After Impact
Training, families may complete their foster application and questionnaire and
proceed to the home study process. Impact Training meets Georgia’s requirements for becoming
certified as a foster parent. Attendance
at our p686 Discovery foster session or another FaithBridge orientation session
is a pre-requisite for participating in the Impact Training.
This
training will be conducted by FaithBridge Foster Care (www.faithbridgefostercare.org).
Please note that there is a $30 cost (cash) for the drug screening which will be completed on Friday night during the training.
Childcare will not be available, but promise686 will provide vouchers for babysitting. Please contact us at info@promise686.org to request a voucher.
